Parenting.com & Homeopathy

At Chaitanya Homeopathy Clinic, Aryan and his mother had come for his treatment. While discussing Aryan’s complaints, his mother began sharing the confusion, exhaustion, and constant overwhelm she experienced while trying to manage parenting.

Every Saturday, Aryan had a fixed playtime at the park. While he played, his mother used that time to chat with her friends on the phone. After returning home, until food was prepared, Aryan got his designated “TV time,” and only after finishing his dinner and homework would he get “movie time.”

Today, in many homes, everything—from feeding infants to educating older children—has become dependent on the “screen.” Older generations quickly judge parents saying, “What kind of parents are these?”

But the reality is that most parents are drowning under the pressure of balancing work and home. Their lives run on a long checklist: “park time,” “story time,” “activity time,” and so on.

This sharp-minded Gen Z and Gen Alpha generation cannot be engaged with just one toy or one activity. Their environment is filled with constant stimulation. But do they truly need that stimulation, or do we give it because we don’t have the time or energy to think of alternatives? That is the real question.

Earlier, in joint-family systems, the responsibility of raising a child was naturally shared. It felt as if the entire neighbourhood participated in raising a child. Today, in many families, the mother is simultaneously the parent, teacher, sibling, friend, and emotional anchor. This overload leads to exhaustion, which eventually shows up as irritability in communication with the child.

(In some families this multitasking caregiver may be the father, grandfather, or grandmother—but commonly, it is still the mother.)

Another regular Homeopathic patient, Adhiraj, goes to school at 9 am. Before school, he goes to daycare; after school, he returns home around 5 pm. He tries hard to manage all this, but in between he often complains, “I want to stay home.”

He is just 3 years old.  But such long hours away from home have become the norm. Whether school, daycare, or multiple classes, children spend 7–8 hours outside. Some children enjoy it; many do not.

Times have changed, but the stages of physical and emotional development remain the same.

For example, no matter how fast this generation seems to grow, a three-month-old still cannot start walking!

From ages 4 to 6, children need as much emotional connection with their parents as possible for their overall development. If this bond is shared among family members, even better.

This is why traditional Gurukul systems—and many modern Western schooling models—begin formal education at age six, after the child has developed enough emotional and social readiness.

Today, many preschools consciously work on pre-academic development focusing on hygiene, awareness, social adaptation, and emotional skills—not on formal academics.

Parents today often worry that emotional development is happening too fast in older children.

Yes, development follows age, but its expression has changed.

Screens—TV or mobile—are constant stimuli. They directly impact brain cells and hormones.

For example, when children watch thrilling videos (often games), the hormone adrenaline is released, along with other physical reactions. The mind connects these reactions with memories, emotions, and learned behaviours.

If only we could channel these thoughts in the right direction—it could significantly enhance a child’s emotional and intellectual potential.

As children grow, every parent dreams:  “Let my child become independent, safe in this crowded world, and strong enough to build a life of their own.” Parents willingly sacrifice their own desires for this dream.

Meanwhile, some parents unintentionally impose their own unfulfilled ambitions on their children. They expect nothing less than a Nobel Prize—believing their children to be prodigies. This results in endless classes and pressure.

Children today also know big words liketrauma’, ‘depression’, and they casually use them in daily life. Their perspectives become one-sided.

Are we trying to make them all-rounders at the cost of their childhood? This is worth deep reflection.

Gen Z and Gen Alpha cannot avoid technology—it is their world. They naturally develop tech skills. But what is missing is open conversation and unhurried time, without checklists or rush. Otherwise, young children start speaking like adults.

A 3-year-old Shubham says, “Hey… this switch is damaged. This toy doesn’t work on normal batteries, it needs a button cell.”

His uncle admires this and buys another remote car.

Just like that, the home’s toy collection grows—but the awe felt by today’s Shubham is the same as the awe felt by a child from 1980.

The difference is: today’s Shubham carries a mountain of information, technology, and easily available material on his small shoulders.

The joy of mud, trees, and birds still exists today—but we are giving it lesser time and value. Will virtual reality soon replace real soil and real trees? The fear is real.

A Sanskrit proverb says:

“Love the child till age 5, discipline till age 10, and after 16, treat them like a friend.”

Modern research shows, the brain grows amazingly fast between 0 to1 year.

Using fMRI brain imaging, scientists now study early cognitive development.

For example, babies start recognizing sound patterns more precisely from six months of age.

Childhood is not lost yet—but its form has changed.

Around them lies an entire ocean of emotional, educational, social, and global pressures.

We may not drain this ocean—but we can surely teach them how to row the boat wisely.

How Homeopathy Helps?

Homeopathy can make childhood safer, smoother, and emotionally balanced.

It helps children:

  • 🌿 adjust better
  • 🌿 utilize their natural strengths
  • 🌿 avoid overthinking or anxiety
  • 🌿 grow emotionally resilient
By understanding the child’s habits and emotional patterns, Homeopathic medicines can gently guide them in the right direction—helping them become wise, sensitive, confident adults of tomorrow.

Today, many parents gather loads of information from books, WhatsApp University, and Google University, and use it selectively or conveniently. Some parents intellectually plan exactly how they must behave with their child.

When Aryan was asked questions, most answers came from his mother. Parents often feel they can “control” everything—the environment, people, reactions, and what the child must say.

As if parenting comes with a remote control!

Ultimately, Homeopathy helps find a golden balance between information, circumstances, and parental goals.
